As usual, I have done a lot of research on what we should bring with us on this four month excursion.  The first choice for me is what bag to take.  The bag size we pick will tell us how much we can bring.  Others do the opposite...they layout what they want to take and then buy a bag to fit it all.

Us being on the road for the past seven months, we have learned that we can make do with very few things.  Therefore, it was decided that we will go with a bag that is small enough for carry-on. This will also prove helpful as we travel on trains, boats, and buses throughout Southeast Asia.

The bags we chose are the Men's Kelty Redwing 44 Liter and the Women's Kelty Redwing 40 Liter:

Now...what to put in the bag.  First thing I know it that I want to be able to blog throughout the trip.  I tried keeping a blog on our motorcycle trip, but doing the blog on the iPhone was really not easy.  I know that is how I blogged on the Pacific Crest Trail, but it really was not easy.  So, after much...well...maybe not too much thought I purchased a MacBook Air with an 11.6" display.  The reason I went with the MacBook Air versus an iPad is I need a keyboard and I need a USB input.  Why Mac versus Windows....I HATE Windows 8, so no Windows for me.

Nice and small, but big enough for a full keyboard.

Look how thin!

What's in the bag?

This is all I am taking for four months in Southeast Asia.  Some people will think I am crazy for only taking the few clothes that I am, but after being on the road for 8 months now, we have learned that you really don't need much.

I am kind of digging the luggage organization bags that I found to put my clothes in.  This will make it easier to find what I'm looking for in the backpack.

Here is a look at all the clothes I am bringing.  One pair of pants, two pairs of shorts (one is just for sleeping in), one dryfit t-shirt, one long-sleeve shirt, two short-sleeve shirts, three pairs of wool socks, and a sunhat.

As for underwear (no picture necessary) I am taking six underpants and two sports bras.

Also, not in the pictures are my shoes.  I will be wearing Brooks Cascadia trail runners…the same shoes I wore on the Pacific Crest Trail.

As for Tim's bag...he has packed very similar to me.
