Day 0 - San Diego

Well...here we are again. Exactly two years to the day we are back in San Diego to re-attempt a they-hike of the Pacific Creat Trail. The biggest difference this time is that Tim will not be hiking along with me. Instead he will be driving the 4Runner and riding his motorcycle between meeting me at the next major road crossing or town. Theoretically this should be every 4-5 days, but in the first 17 days I will actually be meeting up with him all but 5 days.

So, if I'm not hiking with Tim then who am I hiking with. Well...I will be doing this hike solo. Am in scared? No, well, maybe I'm a bit scared of all those night noises outside the tent, but I have earplugs so I won't hear them.

The good news is that my lifelong friend Barbra will be joining me for the first 2 weeks, so I won't be alone during the hard transition time between starting the trail and getting in the groove of hiking 10-15 miles a day.

As we sit here in our hotel room there is an air of excitement and nervousness as this new adventure is about to begin. The bags are packed and the alarm is set for 7:00 AM. Tomorrow Tim will drive us the 60 miles to Campo, California and drop us off for the start of my 2,760 mile hike and Barbra's 140 mile hike. Let's do this!!
